I love to travel................

Most people think we're (my family) crazy because when we go up North to see relatives in PA, NJ and NY, we like to drive. Ok.....I'm the one that likes to drive and I do most of it. There's just SO much to see along the way, even if you drive up I95. I just wish we could travel a whole lot more than we have been. Not that we don't get around.....I think we've been up to the North East about 30 times in the last 10 years or so.....

But I digress. The reason I mention all this is because of one of those goofy forwarded emails we all receive almost everyday. This one came from my brother-in-law....or is it ex brother-in-law....nah....forget the ex...
Anyway, he sends this link to a YouTube.com video of some guy dancing in locations all over the world. Now, it's not exactly breathtaking at first, and I started looking to see if he was digitally pasted onto each country's video....he wasn't.

And since I seem to really love listening to others tell about their trips to locations all over the world, I really liked this video.....or rather, the reason behind it....

So I suggest that you not only watch the video, if it hasn't already arrived in your mailbox, but visit Matt's website. He's actually rather funny....I laughed out loud while reading his "About Me" page. Your mileage may vary, as the saying goes.

You'll find a link to Matt's site on the sidebar to the right. But don't forget to visit my other websites as well.... Oh.....that's Matt standing on the rock.....cool, eh?

Another Gallery Walk Tonight

It's that time of month again.....another Towles Court Gallery Walk, which means that I need to turn my messy studio into a somewhat presentable gallery. Or not.....
Honestly, I'm not sure what to expect tonight. Not that I really ever DO know what to expect, but there's hardly anyone left here. Towles Court is turning into an office complex. Ok....it's not exactly THAT bad, but it's currently about as bad as I've seen it in the nine years I've been here. Several galleries have moved or are moving to other parts of town. Some are empty...who knows why.....a bunch of artists leave for the summer (I'd love to). So it's slim pickings around here.....
Having said all that, I've been to other so-called 'arts districts' that had even less galleries and shops than we do so TC is still a great place to visit. Two great restaurants, soon to be three, I hear. I just wish the office people would go elsewhere. They all seem to be nice people....they just don't support TC.

I spent a few days painting for fun this week. The above images were painted in my grand daughter's bedroom and in case you don't recognise the characters, they are from the animated movie "Nightmare Before Christmas" by Tim Burton, one of my favorite movies and apparently a favorite of my grand daughter. It's always fun doing this kind of work. I don't often paint kids room murals. The last one I did was for Dick Vitale's grandkids room....

It Runs In The Family

The painting below, measuring 36" x 48", was painted by my six year old daughter, Mackenzie....she's the cute one on the ladder. For awhile, I saw it as a ballet dancer.....she's not saying.
OK.......even though I also create and host websites (in my spare time), I forgot that new posts go to the top of the blog....so start reading at the bottom and then this may all make sense.....or not.

Yes....I'm practicing

For those of you that don't know, I've maintained a studio in the Towles Court Arts District for about 9 years now. For the first four and a half years, I rented a studio in the Art Center above the resaurant (now called Lavanda). We then purchased a property here and now my studio is right outside my back door.

We, Towles Court, have gallery walks on the third Friday of every month. You pretty much don't want to be around me that day.....it means that I have to turn my studio, which I just spent the last 29 days or so destroying (working in) and I now have to make it look like a somewhat presentable gallery. Fat chance:-) I do my best and truth be told, it seems that many of the visitors really like that they actually are able to check out a real live studio, a rarity around here anymore. Still......I wouldn't mind having it both ways....a big, beautiful, CLEAN, gallery in front of a big beautiful messy studio. I'm working on it....

All of this is a long, roundabout way of posting a photo that might give some readers a better idea of who I am. See.....we have these gallery walks. And by far, the one question I'm asked more than any other is...."Hey....are you the guy that........."

The question comes about 45 seconds after viewing a large photo of the Crisp Building mural I painted back in 2000. So below is the aforementioned photo, taken before the mural was messed up. But that's another story..... The photo is below. For more on that mural and how I painted it, go to my Emurals.com website.

Just What I Need.........

Like I don't have enough things on my plate, here I go jumping into yet another project I'll not likely be able to back out of.....not that I would want to do that, right? I mean, if you don't have a blog (being blogless), you're nobody....

Well...it's not quite like that but this seems like a good idea to let the world know what I'm up to at any given moment, in case anyone in the world actually cares. So here we go....I hope you enjoy what you find here. I do live a rather interesting life, being a working artist and all.....certainly more interesting than way back when I worked in a factory in Pennsylvania.

Here is where will I now keep everyone updated on my latest projects, crazy ideas, favorite websites and whatever else I feel like sharing. So stay tuned....
